<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So here's the guy all the fuzz is about. I took him out for a spin yesterday. My list:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Bradigus</div>
<div>
6 x woldwatcher</div>
<div>
woldwarden</div>
<div>
wold guardian</div>
<div>
3 sets of shifting stones</div>
<div>
2 sets of Sentry stones</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I played against Harby. Terrible matchup for him. Terrible list to play, Bradigus is. I got everything tangled up and my order of activation got FUBAR. I put Bradigus wa-A-aA-y to much up the board and got purified and then it was just a bloody beating after that. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After the fiasco I stayed at the table for a long while practicing my deployment and first two turns. I realized a couple of things:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<ol>
<li>This list is not easy to play! And isnt unbeatable. If you can put small wrenches in it your (Bradigus) opponent might clock.</li>
<li>If you start loosing shifting stones you loose the list. you cant boost, charge, heal, nothing (since the stones is you fury management)! Protect those fuckers! </li>
<li>I can pretty much stay in the deployment zone with Bradigus the first turn or most of the game if there is'nt a kill box going on.</li>
<li>If there is no shooting on the other side of the table I could acctually run stuff first turn if I go first!</li>
<li>I need to play more!</li>
</ol>
</div>
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835923007474680598.post-74407893311407519342014-10-28T23:39:00.000-07:002014-10-28T23:39:17.913-07:002015 - Im playing to winSo, its this time of year again! I have faction anxiety. I have three factions to choose from, one of which Im familiar with but is one of the most played in the meta right now (Cryx), one of which is fun and hard and really, really good but which I am terrible at playing(Circle). And one which is good and broken but I have not had practise with (Legion). So which to choose?<br />
<br />
I have pledged to myself that year 2015 shall be the year where I break out of the x-and-2-bracket and enter the x-and-1 or x-and-0 bracket and in order to give myself a real chance at that I need to do a couple of things, among those:<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>Play the things that give me the biggest advantage against the rest of the field </li>
<li>Stop changing factions (i.e Learn and Master one Faction)</li>
<li>Stop caring so much about how I am perceived</li>
<li>Become better at closing games</li>
</ol>
<div>
The third one is interesting. I play Cryx now. I dont like to play Gaspy2 because he is considered cheesy. I dont like to field Denny2 (even though I like playing her) for the same reasons. I like to play Skarre2 (always have) cause she supports her army and plays the denial game. No ones think she is the shit. No one complains if I win with her. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The point is, I am wrong in doing this. Why should I handicap myself this way. I should find the cheesiest, most broken and unfair stuff i can find and annihilate my opponents with it (I don't have to be a d*ck about it, mind you). There <i>is</i> those who can play sub par casters and still beat most other players. I'm not one of those players. I need my broken-ass-stuff. And if people think less off me for it: so be it! I'll bath in their tears and cherish the Lament of Their Women, as I drive them before me! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
2015 - I'm playing to WIN!</div>
<div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw7MMB1XniWOauEo7Yo598dIgee8ZJG99ZBVdJg4xqPksnb6FaGe5o0bpjlYHktDyvfacwMCR-kTJ5RLiu-7AVrpegS1_FOfJv2l1gpnnqOu0tBIN9lzagcY8K_oDbcZiVhp6E_D0KCdUN/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-02-09+at+9.57.15+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw7MMB1XniWOauEo7Yo598dIgee8ZJG99ZBVdJg4xqPksnb6FaGe5o0bpjlYHktDyvfacwMCR-kTJ5RLiu-7AVrpegS1_FOfJv2l1gpnnqOu0tBIN9lzagcY8K_oDbcZiVhp6E_D0KCdUN/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-02-09+at+9.57.15+PM.png" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
I got circles on my mind these days. After reading some WTC lists I realize circle is the most fun to play and also the best faction. I should play them, I should stick to my guns, learn them and all that. So, ironically, I plan to stop playing Cryx (i.e. not sticking to my guns...) and take up my Circle again after the next tournament. Maybe this time I can get through the boring period of losing and come out the other side a winner. Maybe.<br />
<br />
I played a game yesterday against a Denny2 tier 4 list (the NQ one) and had a blast (I played Kruger2)! Which is not a common thing against that type of list. The "quicken Chicken" is IN-SA-NE! Never before has so few models killed so many un-dead (or enslaved) infantry for so few points. It all came down to a 37% assassination from me to win: Denny was incorporeal behind a wall but I aimed with Kruger, needing 12s to hit (and getting sustained attack). I missed the first and second shot (going all in) but the last shot connected, and rolled for damage, after 2 minutes of shaking the dice whilst trash-talking my opponent, a six, a five and a five (needing boxcars). I groaned and scanned my side of the table for one more magic attack (I was feated on so couldnt advance) and found it! My shifting stones UA! I <i>accelerated </i>him with a griffon and shifted forward and proceeded to throw rocks at Deneghra. I missed the first but being only 3 inches from her auto-hit with the blast. Needing 9 to win and rolled 7. Acceleration shot missed but I rolled the nine for damage!!!<br />
<br />
The excitement was short though, since we quickly realized that <i>Acceleration </i>gives you a star-action at end of activation, NOT a star-attack. So Denny stayed at 2 life and Kruger got eaten by a Nightmare. But still, one of the most fun games I have had playing warmachine.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835923007474680598.post-45230376516091682502014-10-07T22:28:00.000-07:002014-10-07T22:28:02.469-07:002014 Almost done - what am I doing, what have I learnedSo, this year is almost over and what have we done (to paraphrase)? lets se:<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
<u><span style="font-size: large;">WARMACHINE/HORDES:</span></u></h2>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPmNztgfoqSvMO3fLmg-xFn8nVAVvpOVLDee41ReYLFBL1irAkzb8RlKW5cjdlLCGJ1meLnRo6oLuDCIxrS-FQsCPgyblN5SZDp0gx6_oXAXdxnEoYPMDd34ItJjrvbEescORSFwnJWpmG/s320/Morvahna+Header.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPmNztgfoqSvMO3fLmg-xFn8nVAVvpOVLDee41ReYLFBL1irAkzb8RlKW5cjdlLCGJ1meLnRo6oLuDCIxrS-FQsCPgyblN5SZDp0gx6_oXAXdxnEoYPMDd34ItJjrvbEescORSFwnJWpmG/s320/Morvahna+Header.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
The year began with me playing circle. And complaining. I was beginning the year on a bad losing streak. I could not understand. I have since switched back to Cryx and have had some very minor success (a third and a second place in smaller tournaments). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
We went to Irland (I played Cirlce) and I went 3:3 I think. It was fun though. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I picked up a complete army of Legion of Everblight which is assembled and awaiting paint. They might have to wait a while still (even if I'm itchy to try out that new ambush unit and Abby2). Cause now I am starting to long for circle again...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><u><span style="font-size: large;">WHAT HAS CHANGED:</span></u></h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.yourinnerskinny.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/changes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.yourinnerskinny.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/changes.jpg" height="160" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Why didn't I win using Circle in the beginning of this year? Why would I now? The answer to the first question is that my training games are against the same players I always face in my training games - not the best in Sweden but better <a href="http://gotapair.se/stats">ranked</a> than me. And I have come to understand that, in order to win over great players with a faction/team/whathaveyou, you first need to learn how to win with them. I should have played some matches first against some players at the same level as me or someone with a new faction as well maybe. So, I might give Circle another try. I'm having the itch. I want to play the Goat-Lady again. And mr. Pushy McFlightpants. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<h2 style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><u>PAINTING?</u></span></h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://blog.amhill.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/process-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://blog.amhill.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/process-2.jpg" height="303" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yeah. Im doing some of that to. The painting standard of my armies has decreased steadily over the last couple of years and Im not as inspired by that as I used to be. However there is rumored to be a P3 Grand Master painting competition at SmogCon, which I will attend. And enter in at least 2 categories. More on that to come. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now I need to go and theory-machine some Circle.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I haven't updated this site since for ever. But that is about to change. I have started to miss blogging. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There might also be a slight change in what I will write about, since I what I am doing with my hobby has changed during the year I've been gone from the site. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In short, I am no longer planning to enter GD's and am painting a little less. I am instead trying to get better at the game of Warmachine and is researching tactics and strategies to improve my game. So I will write more about tactics in future posts but there will off course be painting as well. Lots and lots of painting.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stay tuned!</div>

<br />
Haven't writen in a while. Have been preparing for the swedish nationals in WM by painting lots of miniatures. And dreaming of killing Gun Mages and Nyss Hunters and other high def units using cheap Bile Thralls.<br />
<br />
I will (have been by the time this gets published) played Skaverous in the nationals. And Im thinking about biles. And Excarnate. And how silly it is. In the list I will be running the threatrange is "just" 22" from your unit commander in the bile unit. Silly.<br />
<br />
Wanna know how it works? wanna know? This is how it works:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggFZc3K_5AfSnqHAEVwJ7HukSHYKdlnR-p52qNqizlTdvPmxRZw7oSVeex9Kvra2iA_WqcumX_Warpx2LOx2nbrpVCmGrEDAeZKaAkONd4TYcVFkFU_c_iwPXFT-xWPe2NBSs1JEu2sag/s1600/Uppsta%25CC%2588llning.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggFZc3K_5AfSnqHAEVwJ7HukSHYKdlnR-p52qNqizlTdvPmxRZw7oSVeex9Kvra2iA_WqcumX_Warpx2LOx2nbrpVCmGrEDAeZKaAkONd4TYcVFkFU_c_iwPXFT-xWPe2NBSs1JEu2sag/s320/Uppsta%25CC%2588llning.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
In this setup, the Skaverous player goes first (best obv). I have choosen just the figures involved in the trick:<br />
Skavve<br />
Skarlock<br />
Darragh Wrathe<br />
Biles!<br />
Warwitch Siren<br />
"Arc node"<br />
<br />
He is faced with a bunch of Nyss, 2 heavys and eDenny.<br />
<br />
TURN1:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyfXFieOCep9OmQoL9jOKOYlIS62yXrVQy_zx1WGyVff9oOB3UHssWIwdoPI4v9d431Rbou_L-jdfUadvV0sFw3-o0X19YULPa2cc24wEzCK6EcXtuk1opEAUeyaMqQg9OssJeXzciFE8/s1600/Skavve1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyfXFieOCep9OmQoL9jOKOYlIS62yXrVQy_zx1WGyVff9oOB3UHssWIwdoPI4v9d431Rbou_L-jdfUadvV0sFw3-o0X19YULPa2cc24wEzCK6EcXtuk1opEAUeyaMqQg9OssJeXzciFE8/s320/Skavve1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Move up with everything. The biggest threat range a Nyss hunter can get is 22" (with push and +2 SPD) but usually it is just 19. To be sure you could run 10" up the table but here I just advance them 9,5".<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvCH6J19oVlS0Q4c7260mOGWxdTmnmC59wLJg9r_QbD4Sv_uv9_5ZtBIz9bq3S20VBfawGphoBgN_3L6SvJRaFs6x6BPWsoR9YdQpdtiBU6YhEs6OnIbgZNubuvcQt2W92yUN_5_wmswY/s1600/Denny1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvCH6J19oVlS0Q4c7260mOGWxdTmnmC59wLJg9r_QbD4Sv_uv9_5ZtBIz9bq3S20VBfawGphoBgN_3L6SvJRaFs6x6BPWsoR9YdQpdtiBU6YhEs6OnIbgZNubuvcQt2W92yUN_5_wmswY/s320/Denny1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Assuming the Denny player chooses to advance cautiously it could end up something like this. Would you feel safe? I think I would. But here comes round 2<br />
<br />
ROUND 2<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqLBlHXez9rWoGkly97GUg8gBbRCHEXW_ga8jqJA9qsO7j34IAKVACU1Fo2HOxXXnPtmVmD9k1eie15bFSguwomcLwE7wddC2WHwG5JIRt7uw8S9TDpSnXVTsgWWdy__7Hiq7ZzbmZXY4/s1600/runda2-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqLBlHXez9rWoGkly97GUg8gBbRCHEXW_ga8jqJA9qsO7j34IAKVACU1Fo2HOxXXnPtmVmD9k1eie15bFSguwomcLwE7wddC2WHwG5JIRt7uw8S9TDpSnXVTsgWWdy__7Hiq7ZzbmZXY4/s320/runda2-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
1. First powerboost the Arc Node<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8nmfTxLhz8XTwuzkNHL2kuKF66ghCBuWhOnAvy8gL11CeYiAUzHnb_QKghJgHMLXOmKq8geUhYSZL_6vG0dJ74HwYTnQiTk2Gr1NQ4iauq_QwcWa98vuYO30MUWEXkg65237wUUpgGKA/s1600/rund2-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8nmfTxLhz8XTwuzkNHL2kuKF66ghCBuWhOnAvy8gL11CeYiAUzHnb_QKghJgHMLXOmKq8geUhYSZL_6vG0dJ74HwYTnQiTk2Gr1NQ4iauq_QwcWa98vuYO30MUWEXkg65237wUUpgGKA/s320/rund2-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
2. Run the arc node up the table. Find an easy living target. In lack of that, just find a living one.<br />
3. Move Skaverous up 3,5-somthing-inches.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjlG1THhiSIQHjMcF1L89CdQUBcN2cPejc_wWljEqJNHddXmekpOdbu-UdIcHHryAiz3P8StALvfz-9mOBDkQ4lhrFloLj26-KhnuTFhFAn1hKgtXkZ4fBQCS04xqt52SIwK44epYSsDs/s1600/runda2-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjlG1THhiSIQHjMcF1L89CdQUBcN2cPejc_wWljEqJNHddXmekpOdbu-UdIcHHryAiz3P8StALvfz-9mOBDkQ4lhrFloLj26-KhnuTFhFAn1hKgtXkZ4fBQCS04xqt52SIwK44epYSsDs/s320/runda2-3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
4. EXCARNATE!!<br />
5. Place new bile thrall grunt as shown in picture<br />
<br />
now here comes a lot of movement tricks<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRuYmzErrGOYOe75u9i56BGHLrcS4xQGdyLIviti1YOligWA3mMojzAU2xVFxxaJKPM74XbYOstA976WN6Qs8Ha6y2SNNYcy2H1j9e5wJywLX1MKacOeGL0BwC2CGxzjI9RgV0smLBxf4/s1600/rund2-4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRuYmzErrGOYOe75u9i56BGHLrcS4xQGdyLIviti1YOligWA3mMojzAU2xVFxxaJKPM74XbYOstA976WN6Qs8Ha6y2SNNYcy2H1j9e5wJywLX1MKacOeGL0BwC2CGxzjI9RgV0smLBxf4/s320/rund2-4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
6. Telekinesis (TK) the first bile thrall and then TK back yourself (this requires you to feat before excarnate to get enough focus, but you can also skip this step)<br />
7. Use skarlock to TK bile unit leader to keep formation.<br />

Beware, this will probably not make you allot of friend, this move. And considering the additional damage you can make with a reaper and the withershadow combine in the list you might just as well change your name and skip town all together ;)<br />

But there it is.<br />

So I have just finished a weekend of gaming and the preparations and all the miniatures painted for the contests. Now it is time to continue the golden demon projects. Today I will get some paint on the carnifex. The dreadnaughts will arrive later this week and last night I started constructing the display base for my terminators.<br />

I am almost done with the ork warboss as a warm up and his base is on its way. The Base for my duel is getting along, I still need to find more detail to add to it, but I do have a couple of months for that ;)<br />
<br />
Made a first test piece for the Carnifex monster I am entering. Not sure about the colors but they are around where I want them. And I keep taking pictures using my iphone, thus the quality of them. Hehe<br />

Miniplans.I currently own 4 cryx models that lack paint. Four! Thats it. And Im not planning on getting any more in the near future (but, the plans of mice and men and all that...)<br />
<br />
What I am planning however is to enter the golden demon in, either the U.K or in Spain this year. If I enter in Spain I wont win in any category but I will get to see some of the absolutley best painted minis this year.<br />
<br />
If I enter in the U.K I might have a chance. A snowballs chance in hell, but still. I would like to try :) I am really excited to start. I planned to finish the cryx before but I couldn't keep my hand out of the yar as it seem...<br />

I do have some boxes left that need to go into the addict, but it is still full of the previous tenants stuff, so they get stored in the kitchen for now. <br />
<br />
As I was moving in I decided to get some work done on my gaming table. I knew this project was bound to generate a lot of spill and wast, dust and sand all over the place so I figured might as well (since I needed to clean the place anyway after the move).<br />
<br />
A couple of weeks earlier me and a friend had raided a hardware store for material; pink foam, and mdf boards and such stuff. I had also bought a GW battlemat and some resin for water effects. I had a clear plan of what to do. A river going through two 2" by 4" sections of board so that the river could either be going diagonally through the whole board or be in two of the corners not interrupting to much.<br />
<br />
This is a picture of one section, almost done.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuZyRwOy_482POIjoP3a_ZjTwR2WeuxuFn9FGoFCs7KImjYN7E-i4kUqjFJ4fOX4JVwtSth_p951fE1ubW4pU6uDNIHQqvytPOPEV3lmh1jfDCnpf-phISirTMR3sOh2YF2gOFuYMy1z4/s1600/bord1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuZyRwOy_482POIjoP3a_ZjTwR2WeuxuFn9FGoFCs7KImjYN7E-i4kUqjFJ4fOX4JVwtSth_p951fE1ubW4pU6uDNIHQqvytPOPEV3lmh1jfDCnpf-phISirTMR3sOh2YF2gOFuYMy1z4/s320/bord1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Some things left to do. I need to paint the sides black, the circle to the left got to get more sand in the edges and I am also gonna sand the edges of matt around the river. The sand is obviously going to get painted as well.<br />
<br />
here are some closeups, which will bring me to some of the disasters the title refers to.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlbRB_wcTF7s1vxU4sZKzWrvTlUOYlhJwLo_NBouA9GaUCkJtEIDbKVgYkX4CiTakoouErXNt_vbygyquGpZkXDXEUtMJ58Ai4IOhzgA69rEZuiKXSFxyLfWyL1eUys05sQVo0-RBvKzY/s1600/bord2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlbRB_wcTF7s1vxU4sZKzWrvTlUOYlhJwLo_NBouA9GaUCkJtEIDbKVgYkX4CiTakoouErXNt_vbygyquGpZkXDXEUtMJ58Ai4IOhzgA69rEZuiKXSFxyLfWyL1eUys05sQVo0-RBvKzY/s320/bord2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGpF7iCHf6F7FwgGSFh23P4UAEcyEeqYUHc0G2Z1i0gTpWJPeCDxzJYcEn83lvqv59D39RUweWCgc2HJvvCppp5Ypk34oruzqZzQLslXrxVNAe5CJmC63EPExB3wS8dPamCqTVMrop0a8/s1600/bord5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGpF7iCHf6F7FwgGSFh23P4UAEcyEeqYUHc0G2Z1i0gTpWJPeCDxzJYcEn83lvqv59D39RUweWCgc2HJvvCppp5Ypk34oruzqZzQLslXrxVNAe5CJmC63EPExB3wS8dPamCqTVMrop0a8/s320/bord5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
Thus far everything looks great. LOOKS GREAT! The bloody resin refuses to cure! It cures almost all the way through but at the surface it is still all sticky and &%#t! Aaargh! So I tested another water effect I had lying around to see if I could cure OVER the surface, kind of a protective layer. It did. It looks like this:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOEhVMIeyfIHWfXVXMna6JWvOeT9UQ3QpAaJROxNrdN-YAk08UFjZPZUV2D9_WVWHSYCZzfLDQniHbnBbOwfvC9pSphGypfRO_3CBn8vM37ZsLy3seUs6_K3ps6iznElfxnJsRerNRROk/s320/bord4.jpg" width="320" /> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">So the watereffect did not go well together with the resin. It looks lie snot. <a href="http://failbook.failblog.org/2011/10/07/funny-facebook-fails-wtf-mom/">WTF!</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The other part of the board was a complete disaster. It did not cure. At all! So Back to square one. Tear it all out and start over. I will have to do that to the snot part of board one as well, but I will wait until my second delivery of (very expansive) resin arrives. *whimper*</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">so, status as of now: </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><br />
<ol><li>Pissed off!</li>

Who knows...<br />

I have painted loads of stuff and played two tournaments. I been manic almost. But, now I will have a big hooby break due to moving and all the time that will consume. Also I would like to actully play the game some more. And maybe even try to see some people outside the hobby to get, well, some perspective on things.<br />
<br />
So, First things first. For the Danish Masters, which I played, I brought a couple of new things. I painted a Stalker (I play cryx), I painted Gerlak (shown him in an earlier post) and a unit of bane thralls with UA and the obligatory Bane Lord. Also the Witch Coven got a couple of Coats.<br />

Also I got a lot of comments from some REALLY good painters in Denmark that maybe I should choose my colors with more care :)<br />
<br />
Well, I do know quite a bit about colors and I know how to break the rules (I think). My cryx is insane I know. But they also make me smile. Which is important I think. I hear it prolongs you life or something.<br />
<br />
For the tournament this weekend I painted a new caster and a full unit of Mercenary's.<br />

<br />
The tournament went well enough. 4-1 and a fifth place. Good Enough.<br />
<br />
I Have also been fooling around with some other stuff, green stuff. I have tried to convert the screaming bell rat ogre to make the cut for my Blood Bowl team and am semi satisfied with the result. I will maybe re-do the spikes in the shoulder pads to more of the plasticard ones.<br />

A time where I for once lacked any motivation to paint and just sulked around all day. It lasted a couple of weeks. Then the painting table beckoned me back and a tournament whipped me on.<br />
<br />
The result of said tourney was 14 bane thralls painted and the Bane Lord to boot (some day they might appear here). The place I ended up in was 5th. Not bad. But I was disappointed that all kind of painting competition was left out of the tourney.<br />
<br />
I did however pick up this guy and painted him yesterday. He was a delight to paint and I reckon I will paint him again someday. Maybe for a trip to the USA and put him in a competition at a Con. I think I can give him a real decent paint job given more than the 6 hours he got here.<br />

<br />
<u><b>Step 6: Tubes</b></u><br />
This is a simple step. Paint them pink and wash with lilac wash. If you want to you can then go back and highlight or drybrush them, but this is enough for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsODSBwyqdBsEq85j1BpC-aiEYnAiRlkUoDXyoz8NKfEQ5p9zwCrX4_x8hJj9LVEVsZCQl10nzSPBCqivpGIIAC7CtS6Fbh3B7o1X-OHxO4RCChaakPH6ptvaZ-bwvTy_Q-yJX4p2mJVU/s1600/mcthralls_part3_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsODSBwyqdBsEq85j1BpC-aiEYnAiRlkUoDXyoz8NKfEQ5p9zwCrX4_x8hJj9LVEVsZCQl10nzSPBCqivpGIIAC7CtS6Fbh3B7o1X-OHxO4RCChaakPH6ptvaZ-bwvTy_Q-yJX4p2mJVU/s320/mcthralls_part3_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />

</a></div>I first paint all the areas that shall glow white. Then I wash with GW green wash. <br />

After finishing the bases the units looks like this.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvBhJd5-Q3Qg0GMLufilUpIk_P6EscnK1TlQsUkWH7JRiF2kUgNZ3e8bwAaDt-V5eQHSB9LE8y4ldYxKd2Kqhf0kFAVfDxyeb2Mla218w1E5BHuk0CCsmwXnEYpKCYzd_iI6whq2LGBz8/s1600/mcthralls_part3_finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvBhJd5-Q3Qg0GMLufilUpIk_P6EscnK1TlQsUkWH7JRiF2kUgNZ3e8bwAaDt-V5eQHSB9LE8y4ldYxKd2Kqhf0kFAVfDxyeb2Mla218w1E5BHuk0CCsmwXnEYpKCYzd_iI6whq2LGBz8/s320/mcthralls_part3_finished.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Now I have to finish the front arc marking and re-seal them, since I got them all f-ed up by using spray sealer. Not to worry, I shall un-ruin them :)<br />
<br />
All in all I think I spent maybe 1-1,5 hours per model. And Im happy with how they turned out. Till next time.<br />
<br />
See ya!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-835923007474680598.post-46824968783842011912011-07-19T04:08:00.000-07:002011-07-19T04:08:22.664-07:00MechThralls Assembely-style Painting Step-by-Step Part 2So I continue the thralls.<br />
<br />
<u><b>Step five: Metals NMM</b></u><br />
<br />
Since I am doing thirty thralls at ones, I'm doing just three high lights and one shadeing of the NMM metals. The result will be decent enough and is easy to do (although this is the most time consuming part of the model by far).<br />
<br />
I start by base coating the metals in stonewall grey and move on to wash the whole shabang with badab black.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcmDSsKzy0luzoaa8j4JGksPFDUCJWl9nX12aQqpjhW57-8cTPYkLq-ep7lj385cV1jFIp2D-oT6h_GKaMhMZD8iAd6SWfh6gsnexq67EWBXI0EjllptE_untVqMxKCKl73Ih_sBj_xRA/s1600/mcthralls_part2_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcmDSsKzy0luzoaa8j4JGksPFDUCJWl9nX12aQqpjhW57-8cTPYkLq-ep7lj385cV1jFIp2D-oT6h_GKaMhMZD8iAd6SWfh6gsnexq67EWBXI0EjllptE_untVqMxKCKl73Ih_sBj_xRA/s320/mcthralls_part2_1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
